Betting Probabilities in Craps
The probability of dice combinations determines the payout ratio. The diagram below shows the combinations of dice needed to roll each number. Two and twelve are the most difficult combinations, as only a combination of dice is possible. Kraps's game revolves around the week as it's the easiest combination of dice.
The expected value of all bets is usually negative, so the average statistic player will always lose money. This is because the house always determines the paid odds below the actual odds. The only exception is the chance for the chance the player has when the point is set to pass / come or do not pass / do not come (the odds ratio has a long-term expected value of 0). However, this bet on free odds can not be done on its own, so the expected value of the entire bet, including the odds, is still negative. Since there is no dairy ratio, there is usually no long-term winning strategy in dice games.
Random promotional options are provided to provide the edge of the house. An example of this is a bet in a field that pays 3: 1 to 12 and 2: 1 to 3 or 11. In general, given the real odds of 5: 4 on this bet, the average payouts are approximately 7: 5 ie . the player has a 5% bonus on this bet. This is sometimes seen in casinos that run incentives for a limited period of time, with jurisdictions that require the game to be fair.
Maximizing bet size for odds in relation to the betting line can be reduced but will never remove the edge of the house and increase the dispersion. Most casinos have limitations on how large the odds can be in relation to the betting line, the frequencies being single, double or more. Some casinos offer odds 3-4-5 that refer to the maximum number of bets a player can place on points 4 and 10, 5 and 9 and respectively 6 and 8. During the promotional periods a casino can even offer 100x odds odds, which reduces the edge of the house significantly, but dramatically increases the scatter as the player will bet large amounts.
Typically, payouts are rounded down to the nearest number, resulting in a higher house advantage. These bets include all place bets, odds withdrawal and buy buy: 6, 8, 5 and 9, as well as all lay-ups.
