Welcome to Videoslots – An Interview with Myron (Miles) Saacks, Videoslots.com

Tell us a little bit about VideoSlots.

Videoslots was created by a group of Swedish casino enthusiasts who all had years of experience in the gaming industry, and they all had a desire to turn a domain they owned into the best online casino around.  The very first game to ever launch at Videoslots.com came through NetEnt; Today Videolsots has a myriad of games from over 100 game suppliers. With brands such as Thunderkick, Microgaming, Betsoft, Yggdrasil and Big Time Gaming, to name just a few Videoslots has a world-leading game portfolio but more important to this is our players and we have a passion to give them a unique gaming experience, like no other every day.

How long have you been on the market?

Videoslots launched in spring 2011. Videoslots.com is a strong brand, and we have quickly managed to earn the industry’s respect. We work extremely hard every day to improve our casino for our players as that’s what we are all about – players.

Which are your most popular slots games?

Do you encourage players to use mobile?

Yes, 100 %. Our Mobile product is very important to us. We have continued to improve this product over the years as we know that a lot of gaming is done when players are on the go as part of this continued improvement we have recently added our award-winning Battle of Slots product to our mobile platform.

How do you attract and engage players?

Our Gamification concepts and player rewards are unmatched, and the biggest reason players love us. Once we have signed up a player, our players stay and play with us longer as there is no need for them to go anywhere else with Battle of Slots, My RTP, Clash of Spins, Weekend Booster, Trophies system, and our latest Tuesday Madness Battle players get so much back.

What is it that makes players come back to slots over and over again?

The usual suspects can be mentioned here like the feelings of Thrill and Risk that playing slots gives players and of course the all-important chance. The chance you could win big and change your life forever are all reasons players keep playing slots but I also think that players enjoy slots as it also makes them feel safe and secure in a very volatile world where you never know what can happen next. Slots allow you to be taken away from every day and transported into any world that suits you at the time. You can be a spy one day and a princess the next.

It seems that the majority of slots players are senior women in land-based casinos. Is the same valid for online casinos? Are you focusing on female players and what’s your strategy there?

No, that’s not a true statement. I feel it’s not the same in the online space. Women will always be an important part of our slots demographic, and many slots providers gear their games towards females but to say more women play these types of games is not accurate. They may favour slots over other games in general, but there has been a shift from men towards slots too very much down to how game providers are releasing games appealing towards men more often now.

Who is your player, can you tell us more about the slot’s player demographics?

We have players from all spectrums and all walks of life, age-wise and gender-wise. We truly do have an even mix in Our Trophy system is another way we this regard. What I can tell you about award our players for their loyalty to us. the players that choose Videoslots over The Videoslots Trophy system is based on other brands is that our players realize the principle where players must complete very quickly that we offer them a sense of Security, Excellence, Integrity, Clarity, Passion, Individuality, Style that they won’t get at other places and the very best entertainment for there money.

Can you tell us more about the Battle of Slots?

Battle of Slots is an innovative feature giving players the chance to compete against each other on their favourite slots, with a chance to meet, chat and socialize in a multiplayer mode. Gone are the days when participants just play against the casino. They can now play against each other, and there’s always a winner.

You offer a live casino. Can you tell us more about that?

We feel that having a live casino is an important element in creating a brand where players have everything under one roof and creating the feeling that they don’t need to go anywhere else to find what they want. Also having a live casino appeals to certain people and demographics more as there is a greater feeling of trust seeing a live person over an RNG machine. The latter is true, especially in some cultures. Currently, our Live casino has games from some of the best providers in this field including Evolution gaming and NetEnt with more to come in the future.

What will be the hot topic in the industry in 2020 in your opinion?

It has to be Regulated Markets and which of the markets will go this route next and open their doors for operators to apply for licenses. With so much competition and more and more brands opening their doors daily the one way to set yourself apart is by being an officially licensed casino under a regulated market.  Germany? Finland? There are just so many countries looking at ways of doing this.

You also offer Progressive Jackpot games. Can you explain to our players who might not be aware, what are Progressive Jackpot games?

On most slots machines there is a jackpot, but this is usually a fixed amount on a progressive game this is different as the jackpot increases the more people play the machine. A percentage of every bet you then place on that machine is used to increase the pot associated with the jackpot. Most online casinos offer a Wide range of Network Progressives. These are Jackpots that can be won on any of the casinos that have these available and your play on one brand will count towards the jackpot even if it’s won on another brand.

It seems you are using a lot of Gamification via the Trophies and Rewards system you have established. Can you tell our players how does it work?

certain tasks (I.e. wager a certain amount in a new game) in order to win a trophy. When they complete the necessary task associated with the trophy, they receive the trophy, and when they clear or reach a certain level, they can then be rewarded with Extra spins or other prizes.

What is the next game changer in the industry?

If I were to have a wish, then it would be that more US States open up to online casinos. There is such a huge market there and any casino that can get a foothold there would be a hard train to stop in the future. It is a game changer for sure just as the recent changes to the sports betting industry have shown once the gates open for online casinos it will change our industry forever. From a technology point of view, Virtual Reality has also been spoken of in hushed tones but maybe its time to take it mainstream too.

What are the biggest challenges in the industry?

I can see the industry going from strength to strength the more markets that open up and regulate will separate the best of us from the worst and in the not too distant future players will only have their pick of casinos that are 100% compliant and regulated and the fly by nights will hopefully become something of the past.

Any word on responsible gambling?

From a player’s point of view, know the rules, be safe, be responsible, be aware and when the fun stops, stop. From an operator’s point of view promote responsibly, simple as that.

Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?

Our vision at Videoslots was to create a unique entertainment destination that would attract both the heart and soul of our players, and we feel that we have achieved this by offering technical brilliance, exceptional Customer Support, and market-leading gameplay innovation but we won’t rest on this and will keep working every day to bring you the best.
